The highlands of Ngorongoro Crater & Natural Walk
The Highlands of Ngorongoro Crater is a region along the East African Great Rift Valley in Tanzania, located in a spreading zone at the intersection of branches of the African and Somali tectonic plates, resulting in distinctive and prominent land-forms.
The highlands of Ngorongoro Crater is named for the many craters and calderas existing. As common in spreading zones volcanoes can be found here. Magma rising to fill the gaps reaches the surface and forms cones. Calderas forms if volcano explodes or collapses, following the emptying of the magma chamber below and further spreading can break the volcanoes as well. We offer breathtaking Ngorongoro highlands guided walking tours which include Lake Manyara National Park, cultural tours at Lake Eyasi, Ngorongoro Highlands walk & Lake Natron as per bellow itinerary.
